Assuming that your situation makes it possible, in-wall speakers offer the ideal solution if you want the best possible sound quality that you can get from a hidden speaker. While even the very best and most expensive in-ceiling speakers "spray" their sound from above, in-wall speakers send their sound more directly to our ears.

Therefore, if possible, you may prefer to go with a pair of higher-end 3-way in-walls such as the Boston Acoustics VSI 5835 pictured to the right for zone(s) where critical listening will be important, and you may also want to add a separate (in-wall) subwoofer to experience deeper bass.
